The article analyses the issues of implementing the higher school education system based on competence and project approaches. The article considers theoretical and practical aspects of building the social competence of students in the educational system of vocational training institutions, reveals the essence of higher school educational process and presents its components and structure patterns. The author traces the patterns of educational activity formation and management, introduces ways of personal development and ways of influencing its value system.
